Overview:

Supports daily warehouse operations, ensuring the safe handling, storage, and distribution of chemicals and related materials. This role requires adherence to safety and compliance standards, assisting with inventory control, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of warehouse facilities.

Job Requirements:

1. Warehouse Operations Support

  1. Assist in receiving and inspecting incoming shipments to ensure accuracy of quantities, quality, and correct labeling.
  2. Perform safe loading and unloading of materials, including chemicals, using forklifts and other handling equipment.
  3. Assist in the orderly storage of materials following company guidelines and safety standards (e.g., proper segregation, labeling, and FIFO method).

2. Inventory Management

  1. Assist with daily and periodic stock counts, cycle counts, and audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
  2. Update inventory records promptly in the warehouse management system (ERP, SAP/ORACLE).
  3. Report discrepancies or damaged stock immediately to the Warehouse Officer.

3. Documentation & Record-Keeping:

  1. Accurately complete paperwork for receiving, dispatching, and transferring materials.
  2. Maintain organized files for warehouse documents, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS), delivery notes, and shipment records.

4. Safety and Compliance:

  1. Follow strict safety protocols for handling and storage of chemicals and hazardous materials in compliance with OSHA, DOSH, and local regulations.
  2. Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) is properly used at all times.
  3. Participating in safety trainings, emergency drills, and routine warehouse safety audits conducted by Company

5. Warehouse Maintenance and Housekeeping:

  1. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of warehouse and storage areas.
  2. Regularly inspect warehouse equipment, report issues promptly, and assist with preventive maintenance.
  3. Assist in emergency responses, such as chemical spills, leaks, and other safety incidents.

6. Documentation and Record-Keeping:

  1. Assist in regular inventory counts, audits, and cycle counts to ensure accurate record-keeping.
  2. Promptly update data in ERP systems (e.g., SAP or ORACLE), supporting the warehouse officer in maintaining accurate inventory data.

7. Coordination and Communication:

  1. Provide support to logistics teams, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of products for dispatch.
  2. Communicate effectively with team members, logistics personnel, and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and operational efficiency.
  3. Assist in preparing inventory and warehouse reports.

8. Housekeeping and General Duties:

  1. Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the warehouse to provide a safe working environment.
  2. Working with environment team for dispose of waste, including scheduled waste, in compliance with environmental regulations.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Minimum SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia) or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in warehouse operations, especially in the chemical or related industries.
  • Licenses: Forklift certification
  • Basic understanding of chemical storage and handling procedures.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment, especially forklifts.
  • Good physical health and ability to handle manual labor.
  • Good numeracy and basic computer literacy.
  • Attention to detail, good organizational skills, and compliance-focused mindset.
  • Familiarity with warehouse system and basis such FIFO,LIFO & FEFO.

The Assistant Warehouse Officer typically works in a warehouse environment with exposure to chemical.

  • Standard working hours is Monday to Friday, with possible overtime, including weekends and public holidays as per operational requirements.
